Ms. Ferguson has high blood pressure. 1.This can lead to Heart disease (which may lead to heart attacks), diebetes mellius,
kidney failure, brain disease,and strokes. You can get these deseases if you are over weight, smoking, just getting older,
or maybe you may have inherited high blood pressure from somebody in your family.
This is called hypetention

2.Some usefull ways of treating hypetention:
  • regular exercise
  • low sodium/fat diet
  • stress reduction (yoga and meditaiting)
  • medication.
  • Losing weight (if you’re overweight) helps lower blood pressure in most people it will also help get you fit
  • Stress makes blood pressure higher, so when you have high blood pressure don’t have a lot of stress and also when you have high blood pressure don’t work a lot (you can also take yoga, which makes you relax.)
  • If you’re blood pressure doesn’t lower with these two ways you will have to take medicine, but you will have to take the same medicine for the rest of your life.
  • 3.Types of antihypertensive drugs to cure high blood pressure:
    • Diuretics: These drugs help your body get rid of extra sodium and fluid so that your blood vessels don't have to hold so much fluid.
    • Beta blockers: These drugs block the effects of adrenaline.
    • Alpha blockers: These drugs help your blood vessels stay open.
    • ACE inhibitors: These drugs prevent your blood vessels from constricting by blocking your body from making angiotensin II. Angiotensin II is a chemical that constricts blood vessels.
    • Calcium channel blockers: These drugs help prevent your blood vessels from constricting by blocking calcium from entering your cells.
    • Combinations: These drugs combine an ACE inhibitor with a calcium channel blocker.

  • Watch out though because different sorts of drugs can have side effects for different people. Some side effects of antihypertensive drugs can you make you dizzy after lying down or sitting down for a while.
* Talk to your family doctor about any changes you notice. If for instance the medicine doesn’t work for you or causes side effects, you can get your doctor to get the right medicine for you.

Effects of High Blood Pressure
  • High blood pressure is very severe desease which may lead to death. The effect you get from having high blood
pressure is by getting heart desease. Heart desease leads to heart attacks and then you may die. Also getting
kidney failure is very important.
  • High blood pressure can cause a blood vessel in the eye to burst or bleed. This can cause blurred vision.
  • High blood pressure can cause heart attack. And it can make the heart unable to pump enough blood.
  • High blood pressure can cause kidney failure in which the patient will need a kidney transplant.
  • High blood pressure can cause arteries to stiffen, this makes the heart and kidneys work harder.
  • High blood pressure can cause stroke

High blood pressure can damage the urology system (kidneys), cardiovascular system (heart),
and the nervous system (brain).
Also, if you have never heard of high blood pressure there are different names for it. Such as HBT, hypertension, and HTN.
